You read that title right – I have an awesome moisturizing body scrub and body butter duo to share, AND I’m giving away a duo set for one lucky reader, AND I have a discount code if you want to buy your own!
I’ll start this out with saying I’m not usually one for sweet-smelling type scents. Usually scents that describe themselves as vanilla just smell artificial and gross to me. And then, companies like TASTYFACE come along and make amazing products that smell good enough to eat and completely change my viewpoint on the entire category of sweet fragrance! Vanilla? Heck yes! This is REAL vanilla, not vanilla-scented artificial nonsense.
The two products I tried are TASTYFACE Tahitian Vanilla Lime Sea Salt Body Scrub and Blood Orange Vanilla Body Butter.
First – the scrub.
The smell of the scrub is amazing in that the lime hits you like a fresh citrus spray, but then you smell the sweet vanilla to cool it off so it’s not so sour and bitter like lime can be. I wouldn’t go as far as saying it smells like a “lime bar” or any other baked good, because that would take away from the freshness of it. It really smells like limes picked straight from the tree.
The scrub is oil-based, but it is not sitting in oil. After using the scrub and rinsing it off, I can still feel the oil on my skin. It doesn’t feel greasy, just really moisturized. After drying off, I don’t even need to use a lotion because my skin is so moisturized!
The smell stays with you too. I can smell the sweet lime for at least an hour or so after showering.
Now for the ingredients! The ingredients on my tub are a bit different than online, so this is what is on my tub:**
Pure sea salt, coconut oil*, sweet almond oil*, kukui nut oil*, hand-crafted vanilla bean infused jojoba oil*, vanilla extract*, lime essential oil*, essential oils*
*organic/high quality source
I’ve never seen vanilla bean-infused jojoba oil before, but what a unique and great idea! I love that the fragrance of this comes from vanilla and lime essential oil. And the natural-based fragrance shows in the smell, you can tell that it’s real.
Now, for the butter.
I had a hard time putting my finger on the exact smell of the butter at first. It was sort of like orange-vanilla, like a creamsicle, but more fresh and less ice cream-ish. But then it had almost a chocolately smell. So I finally said – ok, it’s a combination of a creamsicle and chocolate, maybe like one of those chocolate oranges you see around the holidays – but without the artificial sweetness. Well, funny enough, when I went to the website to grab a link for this post I saw their description and it was the same! Combination of creamsicle and chocolate. So moral of the story, my sense of smell is amazing ;o) haha Ok maybe that’s not the moral of the story. But it works for me…
So beyond the ridiculously yummy smell of orange and chocolate, this body butter is SO moisturizing. The texture is a true butter, it’s very rich. It almost has a whipped texture, but a very dense, thick, whipped texture. To use, I skim my finger along the top to get a bit, then rub it in my hands to melt and then apply. For being so thick in the tub, once this melts it is a breeze to spread over skin. A little bit truly goes a long way. While I wouldn’t say this sinks in 100%, it does sink in enough where skin is not left greasy or oily.
And the ingredients! The ingredients are also a bit different on my tub than online, so I’m using what is on my tub:**
Coconut oil*, sweet almond oil*, kukui nut oil*, cocoa butter*, shea butter*, vitamin e (from sunflower seed oil*), hand-crafted vanilla bean infused jojoba oil*, vanilla extract*, blood orange essential oil*, essential oils*
*organic/high quality source
So it’s easy to see why this is so moisturizing, look at all those amazing oils and butters! This also includes real vanilla extract and orange essential oil – so no artificial fragrance here. The cocoa butter is what gives it the chocolate-y smell.
**A note on the ingredients, I heard back from TASTYFACE regarding the discrepancy between my tubs and the website and the website is up-to-date and my labels were out of date, but all products have the correct labels now. The ingredients are on each products webpage and the order of them differ slightly from what is listed above.
With the two of these together, my skin has been so soft and moisturized. I keep hearing others complain about their dry skin and all I can think is – too bad you don’t have TASTYFAAAAAAACE. I love this duo and can’t wait to see what other kind of tasty treats they comes up with!
