So I usually talk about red lipsticks, because reds brighten up my face like nothing else. But the truth is, pinks can too! Pinks are nice because they can brighten up my face without standing out like reds can. A great pink can look like your natural lip, but with a hint of pop.
Sante’s No. 21 Lipstick is this kind of pink. Actually, it’s a coral pink. The coral brings a nice warmness to it, like a touch of salmon without being orange.
I would consider the lipstick opaque, but without looking like a lipstick mask like some opaques can look. One swipe brings full color.
The texture is really nice. It’s creamy, without being too thick. And it’s not drying at all. While it does sink in after 30 minutes to an hour of wear, it doesn’t leave your lips dry. It leaves my lips feeling like after I apply a lip balm and it sinks in, soft and moisturized.
And the wear is great. I find it lasts a few hours, which for natural lipstick is always impressive.
Now for swatches!
First, my arm:
And on my lips (left is bare lips, right is with lipstick)
So as you can see, this provides a nice pop of color, but all while looking very natural.
Now for the ingredients!
Ingredients: Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil,Lanolin, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Rhus Verniciflua Peel Wax, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Brassica Camp-estris/Aleurites Fordi Oil Copolymer, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Aroma (Flavour), Tocopherol, Talc, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Silica, Tin Oxide Mica, Linalool, [+/- CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), CI 75120 (Annatto), CI 75470 (Carmin) (Contains carmine as a color additive), CI 77491 (Iron Oxides), CI 77499 (Iron Oxides), CI 77492 (Iron Oxides)
The first ingredient is castor seed oil, which can be drying if not balanced with some moisturizing oils. And thankfully, this has lanolin and sweet almond oil as the next two ingredients. These provide lots of moisture and help balance the castor seed.
After a few more waxes to keep it thick, it contains jojoba oil, another great moisturizing oil. AND, as a nice little bonus the jojoba is organic!
So overall, Sante’s lipstick in 21 is a beautiful coral pink. It’s moisturizing and long-lasting – what more can you want in a lipstick?
