I think one of my new favorite things about the change in seasons is that there will be a new Alima collection! I love their seasonal collections. The colors are always versatile, yet perfect for the time of year. Delicious Summer is no exception!
The Delicious Summer 2013 collection includes (with their official descriptions):
- Milkshake Eyehadow: creamy beige, punctuated with scattered icy silver sparkles
- Coffee Frappe Luminous Eyeshadow: medium golden brown loaded with golden shimmer
- Strawberry Lemonade Luminous Shimmer Blush: peachy-pink with a subtle hint of shimmer
These descriptions are very accurate. See for yourself!
Left to right: Strawberry Lemonade, Milkshade, Coffee Frappe dry, Coffee Frappe wet
Milkshake truly is creamy beige. When I first saw it in the container, it reminded me of an actual milkshake, or a latte (without the foam). On my skin, it takes on a yellow tone, which you can especially see in the sunlight. The silver sparkle adds a nice coolness to balance the yellow, and it makes a great color for blending or all over for a more natural look.
Coffee Frappe is also just like their description, a medium golden brown with high golden shimmer. While it’s a lovely brown dry, I find it is AMAZING when applied wet as a liner. It takes on a beautiful bronze that even looks gold in certain angles and makes my eyes pop. I really love it!
Strawberry Lemonade is, once again, just like the description. Funny enough, in the jar it looks almost like a muted medium pink, but on my skin you can really see the peachiness. When I think of shimmery peachy pink blush – I think of NARS Orgasm. While it is a nice color, it can be a little TOO shimmery for my taste (plus the whole chemically thing). Thankfully, Strawberry Lemonade is not like this. It does have a subtle shimmer, but nothing crazy. Especially when next to the eyeshadows, you can see it has much less shimmer. I prefer my blushes this way – so it is perfect for me :)
And here are pictures of my eye using the two colors with Coffee Frappe as an eyeliner wet.
As always, Alima makeup applies beautifully and with my eye primer, lasts all day. I’ve spent the day by the pool with friends, out in the hot sun and by the end of the day – my makeup looked just as good as the morning I put it on. Impressive!
Not only do I have swatches, but Jen and I created a video using this collection, along with my other Alima Pure goodies.
AND – even more exciting news is yet to come! So stay tuned!
Delicious Summer is available starting May 28th on AlimaPure.com.
