I love painting my nails. Must be a girly thing. But nothing makes me happier than a girls night of watching a girly movie, drinking some wine and painting nails. So when my mom came over and we popped in Crazy Stupid Love (cute movie BTW) and opened a Nobilo Sauv Blanc, it seemed very natural that nails go with it.
When I went “green” a couple years ago, I discovered Zoya and have since accumulated quite a few nail polishes. One of the many include Faye.
Zoya describes Faye as: A bronzed mauve with purple and brown undertones flooded with bright gold sparkle.
Faye is pretty unique. Its a medium mauvey-purple and the purple color is pretty sheer, but it has chunky gold glitter that demand attention. It took two coats for the under purple color to cover the whites of my nails, but the gold glitter is always noticeable which gives the entire nail a warm color. Depending on the light, you will see purple or you will see gold – or both. I tried to capture this with the light both inside and outside (below) but sometimes you just gotta see it in person. It looks a little dark in the bottle but because of the gold glitter, it actually ends up looking much lighter.
As for Zoya, Zoya is a well known “green” nail company. It’s free of the big 3 (toluene, formaldehyde, DBP) as well as camphor. The very cool thing is that it has over 300 colors! How someone could need over 300 colors of nail polish is astounding, yet, completely understandable. A lady can never have enough lipsticks or nail polishes right? ;o)
