There are a couple of things girls can never have enough of: shoes, nail polishes, and of course – lipsticks. I’m always on the hunt for finding that perfect MLBB – My Lips But Better – lipstick. Tokyo is pretty darn close.
Tokyo is a beautiful sheer dark pinky-coral color. Some corals can look orange on my cool-toned skin, but the pink really helps neutralize the orange-ness of the coral. This is also darker than my natural lip color, by about a shade. Don’t let the color fool you though, this is sheer so not nearly as dark as it appears in tube.
It has a bit of shimmer, but nothing garish. It really seems to brighten up my face. The texture is very smooth, with more of an oily feel like a gloss as opposed to a waxy feel like a lip balm or some other natural lipsticks.

The swatch is one swipe on the left and multiple swipes on the right on the inside of my very fair arm (NC15). As you can see, it is slightly buildable, but mostly sheer.
While Tokyo does not turn my lips into something Angelina Jolie would be jealous of, I do think it causes them to be a little fuller. This “lip plumping” effect causes a little tingle in my lips. Their website says this is due to the spearmint and peppermint oils, but I do not see it in the ingredients, which means it must be in the “flavor”. This can cause some irritation in those with sensitive skin/lips, but I have had no problems.
